Privacy Notice
Dixie D'Amelio operates this website. This notice explains what information the site collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- First Listen signup. When you sign up for First Listen, we receive the email address you provide.
- Music feedback. When you use the music feedback form, we receive the message you write, the song you choose to tag it with (if any), and your email address if you choose to include it. The site also stores a random identifier in your browser so feedback sent from the same browser can be grouped together, and that identifier is sent along with your feedback.
- Hearts on previews. When song previews are available on the site and you tap the heart on one, we receive which song you loved, the identifier above, and your email address if you have signed up.
- Browser storage. The site keeps a few small items in your browser's local storage (not cookies): whether you have signed up, the email you entered so the feedback form can be pre-filled, the identifier above, which previews you have hearted, and which hero photo to show on your next visit. These stay on your device and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
We do not run analytics tools or advertising pixels on this site, and we do not set tracking cookies ourselves. Embedded Spotify and YouTube players and video thumbnails load from those services, and the site's fonts load from Google Fonts; those companies may receive your IP address and, in the case of embedded players, may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
How we use it
To send you the previews and updates you asked for, to read and respond to your feedback, and to compile submissions into a daily summary for Dixie and her team. We do not sell your personal information.
Who processes it
Form submissions are received and stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this website, including in Netlify's storage used to build the daily summary. Emails we send, including the First Listen welcome email and the daily summary to Dixie's team, are sent through Resend. We do not share your information with anyone else except as needed to operate the site or as required by law.
Your choices
To ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, email hello@dixiedamelio.com. If you signed up for emails, you can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or by emailing us.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this notice from time to time; the effective date above will change when we do.
